The Idea:
Migration is a social concept that has been used to explain changes. Moving, wandering, migrations for different, often sad reasons, have contributed to positive and negative changes. In our time – and in this context – it is art’s comments to society, and it is about the journey. A journey of memory, a modern travel description, journeys in culture, mythology, landscape and in the mind.

Migrations as a common and rather close history. By showing the exhibition in the different countries, holding seminars and workshops in different places, but as a part of the same project, I believe that we can contribute towards a deeper understanding and increased respect between the people across borders. As regards content of the exhibition, there are other dimensions and motifs. Here, it is the works and the relationship of the works to each other that are essential. The exhibition and the migration are the poetic tale in and for the Barents Region. Becoming more stories as the project progresses. It is tales and the passages.
